Software introduction

"Ah, well, man was made to mourn, Mrs. Doctor, dear. That sounds as if it ought to be in the Bible, but they tell me a person named Burns wrote it. And there is no doubt that we are born to trouble as the sparks fly upward. As for Matilda, I do not know what to think of her. None of our family ever broke their legs before. But whatever she has done she is still my sister, and I feel that it is my duty to go and wait on her, if you can spare me for a few weeks, Mrs. Doctor, dear."

NetEase's mech battler Super Mecha Champions has proven popular since it first launched last year and has been regularly updated with new characters and modes since. Today marks the arrival of a new mech called Boltus.

As the name suggests, Boltus is capable of manipulating lightning in battle and will apparently excel in mid-range combat. Its primary weapon will shoot balls of lightning whilst its secondary will shoot beams of electricity that deal instantaneous damage alongside creating a chain lightning effect. Meanwhile, in its highspeed form, it will become invulnerable and impervious to Mech collisions.

Boltus will also have a mark-based system that will allow it to do extra damage to targets. When an enemy is hit by a ball of lighting they will receive one mark. If they end up with a stack of five marks, Boltus will automatically summon lighting to dish out some extra damage to that target.

This means that both Boltus players and their opponents will need to keep a close eye on how many marks are on them to deal or avoid that additional damage. NetEase says that Boltus will shine when flying through buildings and outmanoeuvring their opposition.
Paper Mario: The Origami King review - "A brilliant adventure, but the battles fall flat"
They also added that players can expect to see more content soon. This will include a mixture of new events, modes, content, stylish new Mecha and skins. We'll be sure to keep you update whenever we learn more too or you can head over to the game's official site for more details.

Super Mecha Champions is available now over on the App Store and Google Play. It's a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.
On the hunt for some decent multiplayer games to try with friends? Well, here are 25 of the very best for iPhone and iPad

A LION, entering the workshop of a smith, sought from the tools the means of satisfying his hunger. He more particularly addressed himself to a File, and asked of him the favor of a meal. The File replied, "You must indeed be a simple-minded fellow if you expect to get anything from me, who am accustomed to take from everyone, and never to give anything in return."

Activate your desired places farms and start producing delicious nitrous foods for your loved dragons. Sometimes you goona encounter cursed and infertile land, which is not very useful for growing food. These unproductive lands are very harmful and only produce poisons, so to make them useful, get some blessing orbs to heal them."Oh, no, no, NO, Marilla. He can't--nothing can ever do that. He has his own place, my dear, wee man-child. But little Joy has hers, and always will have it. If she had lived she would have been over a year old. She would have been toddling around on her tiny feet and lisping a few words. I can see her so plainly, Marilla. Oh, I know now that Captain Jim was right when he said God would manage better than that my baby would seem a stranger to me when I found her Beyond. I've learned THAT this past year. I've followed her development day by day and week by week--I always shall. I shall know just how she grows from year to year--and when I meet her again I'll know her--she won't be a stranger. Oh, Marilla, LOOK at his dear, darling toes! Isn't it strange they should be so perfect?"
Just as we wrapped up for the weekend on Friday Noodlecake Games announced it'd be bringing Crunching Koala's Lichtspeer to iOS on March 1st, and that makes me very happy indeed.

Goodness me it's Thursday already somehow and here we are again. I've drunk a lot of coffee, my cat just ran full-pelt into my shower door, and it's time to shout out about what's newly released this week.

You'll notice that the Nintendo hiatus is over. Yes, new Switch games are back on the menu - especially this week where the mobile releases haven't been particularly plentiful. That could just be because no one wants to release during Gamescom, but who knows?

Either way, let's have a look at what you could be sinking into this weekend.

    &#;Fall(mod)

His real habitude gave life and grace&#;Anne could hardly discard it completely, for there were undoubtedly times when she felt, with an instinct that was not to be combated by reason, that Leslie harbored a queer, indefinable resentment towards her. At times, this secret consciousness marred the delight of their comradeship; at others it was almost forgotten; but Anne always felt the hidden thorn was there, and might prick her at any moment. She felt a cruel sting from it on the day when she told Leslie of what she hoped the spring would bring to the little house of dreams. Leslie looked at her with hard, bitter, unfriendly eyes.

    &#;
It's not easy to find a profitable market. It's even harder on mobile games where the top grossing apps seem to be set in stone for the past few years with little to no changes in the top ten.

That's a hard lesson that JuiceBoxGames, the studio behind Honorbound learned. In an open and honest post mortem, the co-founder and CEO of JuiceBoxGames reflects on what went right and wrong with the company.

Honorbound was not an unsuccessful game. In fact, it was top grossing in the RPG/Card game category for a little while and made over a million per year. In total, players spent eight million on it. JuiceBoxGames even got to the market in 2012 but, according to him, it was already too late.

Sadly, even these kinds of numbers weren't enough to sustain the company and their second game didn't do well.

JuiceBoxGames couldn't transfer the community of their first game into Stormborn, with the second app getting less than 10% of Honorbound's download numbers.

He also expands on how feedback from investors can be contradictory, leaving everyone confused as to how to proceed.

Ultimately, JuiceBoxGames couldn't keep making games and had to close.

I'd encourage you to give the full thing a read, especially if you want to start a career as a developer or get in on the business as it's a real eye opener. Sadly though, it's also more common these days.

It's hard to believe it's coming up two years since Pokemon GO first sent the world crazy for digital beasties, and Niantic is finally bringing in a much-anticipated Trading system. I know, it's super exciting and it'll start rolling out this week.

You can read the full specs right here on Pokemon GO's official blog, but I'll do my best to sum it all up.

The 'Friends' feature lets you connect with real-life pals so you can keep an eye on what they're up to. If you're feeling super generous you can send them items and trade Pokemon with them, or you can just keep an eye on their stats to make sure you're still better than them.

To get a friend, you'll need to exchange Trainer Codes and accept their request. You can increase your Friendship levels by sending them goodies and by taking part in Raid or Gym battles, and as your levels build you'll unlock bigger bonuses together.

You need to be Trainer Level 10 to trade Pokemon with pals and completing a successful exchange will earn you bonus Candy. Though, you'll need Stardust to do it, so make sure you've got enough stashed away. Again, the better Friends you are the less Stardust you'll need.

Bear in mind that Shiny and Legendary Pokemon need a Special Trade and can only be performed once a day with a Great or Best Friend.

Through rain, shine, and thunderstorms, somehow another week has flitted past and we're on Thursday already.
